Kind of a great taste of (chicken) Garang Asem which is wrapped by banana leaf when it is cooked and serves to customers. The most original and authentic garang asem. Loving the taste so much. Spicy and sour mixed together will make you to ask another portion of rice. My favorite is wings part. They also served ayam goreng, tasted so delicious. If you ever got a chance to fo to Kudus, don’t forget to try this restaurant. You have to aware that this place might be crowded during lunch time and you might have to wait.

Crowded - order taking is not well managed

Famous for its Garang Asem - traditional chicken soup with coconutmilk, wrapped in banana leaf- this place is located on the main road of Kudus. Getting there is easy, also has musholla or if you prefer you can cross the road to pray in the big mosque across the road.

Probably the best “garang asem” I ever have so far. Tasty, spicy, and to bite the chicken is “effortless”, because it’s very soft. Green tomato is another good part of the dish.

Super delicious, a must try food here.the taste is spicy and sour and very fresh. Garang asem is the most popular foods (one of the most?) in kudus. Big parking space, musholla and toilet is available, and located just at the main street of kudus.

The Best Garang Asem dish in Kudus, probably in Indonesia, or even the world (?).Soft chicken dish with heavenly soup, made of various herbs and spices. Refreshingly sour and spicy - full of umami. The spicy chili flavour gives extra kick, I don't think you can order "not spicy" version. All chicken meat (inluding the head) is being wrapped in banana leaves. Better enjoy it while still hot. It really is the best garang asem there is. No need to wait, they were cooked already. Other dishes: Soto and ayam goreng. But hey, this js Garang Asem speciality and you want to order anything else but garang asem? 🙄Drinks are pretty standard, tea, bottled and canned drinks, young coconut etc.Highly recommended when you are in Kudus.

Haven't tried their specialty (Garang Asem) because it wasn't ready yet when I got there (around 8am). So instead I chose Soto Ayam Kudus. The broth is too sweet for me, if only they put less sugar it would taste really different. Overall I probably want to come back for tasting their Garang Asem, otherwise it is only worth to try once.

The place is kinda big, like its good for families. Their speciality is the Garang Asem its like a banana leaf wrapped steamed chicken stew and its soooo delicious, its savory, light, slightly sour, and there's spicy kick to it too! They served them hot with white rice. But they also have other menu too like Ayam Goreng and Soto. They also have a lot of snack choices too. Price wise, it wasn't expensive altough not too cheap too. It was okay. Wide parking space and all, definitely will be back.Garang asem paling enak yang pernah saya coba. Bumbu nya bener2 pas buat saya asem & pedes nya. Tempatnya lumayan lega, parkir mobil luas. Dan lokasi strategis jadi hampang ditemuin. Ada banyak oleh2 juga.

Eating lunch here was one of the highlights of my work travel to central java. Their "garang asem" is simply the best. A rich, sweet, sour, and spicy dish with melt in your mouth steamed chicken wrapped in banana leaves is just so satisfying.

Literally.They used ayam kampung wich is believe could give you good health.There are two seat choice, in aroom with aircon or in a room without it wich allowed you to smoke.They provide delicious side dish such as chicken feet, chicken innards, skeward, kerupuk, etc.
